Guide for Integrating the Elven Platform with Slack for Channel Creation

This guide aims to outline the necessary steps to integrate the Elven Platform with Slack, enabling the automatic creation of channels dedicated to specific incidents. This integration is designed to facilitate communication, collaboration, and team management during incident resolution. The integration between the Elven Platform and Slack enables more efficient incident management by automatically creating specific channels. This allows the team to focus on quickly resolving the issue while keeping communication organized and accessible.

The integration between the Elven Platform and Slack allows discussions and decisions related to the incident to be centralized in a collaborative environment, ensuring that all information is accessible in one place. Additionally, this integration helps optimize the incident response through real-time notifications and updates, making it easier for team members to communicate and speeding up the resolution process.

Accessing the Slack Integration Settings

  • In the upper right corner of the screen, click the profile icon. The icon may be represented by an avatar or the initial of your name.

  • In the menu that appears, select the Organization Setting option. This option will take you to your organization's settings.

  • Click the Integrations tab. This is where you can view and manage all available integrations.

Creating the Slack Integration

When starting the integration process between the Elven Platform and Slack, a window will appear requesting a reference to your workspace. At this stage, carefully follow the instructions provided to establish the connection between the two platforms. This procedure will ensure that the Elven Platform has access to the Slack environment, enabling the automatic creation of incident-dedicated channels and the sending of messages with relevant updates.

It is essential to ensure that the necessary permissions are configured in the Slack Workspace. This includes permissions for creating specific channels and sending automated messages. If the permissions are not enabled, the integration may be compromised, preventing the centralization of discussions and real-time notifications.

Creating a Slack Channel

When accessing an incident page on the Elven Platform, the user will find a dedicated button for creating a Slack channel. If there is no channel linked to the specific incident, the platform will allow a new channel to be automatically generated by clicking this button, within the configured Workspace. This feature streamlines the communication process by centralizing discussions and decisions in a specific collaborative space.

If the channel corresponding to the incident has already been created, the button will be replaced by an option to view the channel directly in Slack. This facilitates continuous tracking of updates and discussions, ensuring that those involved in incident management can quickly access the necessary information and collaborate in real time to optimize the response and resolution.
