**Properly setting up your profile** is essential to ensure a **personalized experience** and improve your interaction with the platform. It’s through your **profile information** that you can be **added to a team**, **assigned to an event**, and **receive alerts** related to them.

## **Go to Profile Page**

* **Log in** to the **Elven Platform**.
* In the **top right corner** of the screen, click the **profile icon** (represented by an avatar or initial).
* In the **dropdown menu**, select the **Profile** option.

## **General Section**

In the **General section**, you can personalize your profile by adding the **name** you'd like to be called and updating your **photo**. This personal touch makes your experience more intuitive and helps with **identification** within the platform.

Under **Contact Methods**, you have full freedom to choose how you'd like to be **notified** whenever an **alert** or **incident** is assigned to you or your team. After all, ensuring that information reaches you quickly and efficiently is essential.

You can configure multiple **communication channels**, such as **email**, **SMS**, **WhatsApp**, **voice calls**, and even **Telegram**. And for each of them, there's even more flexibility: if you wish, you can set different **phone numbers** to receive notifications via **SMS** and **voice calls**, for example. Additionally, when configuring the **voice call notification method**, you can also enable **SMS** and **WhatsApp**, making communication even more accessible and immediate. Similarly, when choosing the **SMS notification method**, you have the option to enable **voice calls** and **WhatsApp**. You can also register a **phone number** to receive messages directly via **WhatsApp** and activate the same number to receive **voice calls** and **SMS**.

If you have the [**Elven Platform mobile app**](https://docs.elven.works/en/elven-platform/mobile) installed, **in-app notifications** will also be available automatically, ensuring you never miss any important updates. This way, you can personalize how you receive your notifications in the way that makes the most sense for you.

If you need to **edit** or **remove** an **email**, **phone number**, or other **contact method**, simply reach out to the **Elven Platform support team**. This measure ensures the **security** of your information and prevents unauthorized changes, making sure all notifications are delivered correctly. This gives you more **control** over how and where you want to be contacted, without compromising the **reliability** of communication.

## **Notification Rules**

**Notification Rules** put the control of **notifications** directly in the hands of the **user**, allowing them to choose **where** and **how** they want to be alerted about **incidents**, **alerts**, and **on-call shifts**. Now, it's possible to set **custom preferences**, selecting the most suitable **communication channels** for each type of notification, such as **email**, **voice calls**, **SMS**, **Telegram**, and **WhatsApp**. This way, each user can tailor notifications to their daily routine, ensuring greater **efficiency** and fewer **unnecessary interruptions**.

In addition to offering more **personalization**, this configuration takes **priority** over the rules defined by the **team**, giving users greater **autonomy** to decide how they want to be contacted. This means that **critical alerts** can be received through a more **immediate channel**, while **less urgent notifications** can be directed to another medium, making communication more **strategic** and **functional**.

With this **flexibility**, users can achieve a better **balance** between **availability** and **focus**, receiving only the messages that truly matter at the right time. The result is a more **fluid** and **efficient experience**, reducing **noise** and ensuring that no **essential notification** goes unnoticed.

## **Upload a new profile picture (optional)**

After selecting the image, **confirm the upload** and wait for it to **finish loading**.\
To ensure the best result, check if the **photo was updated correctly**.
