Application Management Guide on the Elven Platform

With an optimized interface and advanced features, the Application Center is an essential tool to ensure your applications remain healthy and aligned with organizational goals. As shown in the Product Management Guide, we can access the Application Center directly from the Product Center. However, application management on the Elven Platform has its own flow, as we will see later.

Accessing the Application Center

  • Navigate to the main menu and click on Monitoring Aggregators.

  • In the submenu, select Applications. You will be redirected to an interface that displays all applications organized in an intuitive way.

Managing Applications

Creating a New Application

  • Click the “+ Application” button.

  • Fill in the application details:

    • Name: Choose a clear and representative name.

    • Description: Explain the purpose of the application.

  • Define the Monitored Resources:

    • Add elements such as instances, endpoints, or specific integrations that are part of the application.

  • Associate with Product (optional):

    • Link the application to an existing product in the Product Center or keep it as a standalone application.

  • Configure Metrics and Custom Alerts:

    • Define key metrics.

    • Set up personalized notifications for critical events.

Editing or Deleting Applications

  • Select the desired application.

  • Click the Edit application or Delete application icons to:

    • Modify the application.

    • Remove the application as needed.

Analytical View

  • Real-Time Monitoring:

    • The application's main page displays dynamic charts showing real-time performance for each application.

  • Problem Identification:

    • Visual alerts such as status icons or highlighted notifications help quickly identify applications with issues or critical status.

  • Filters and Customization:

    • Use filters to:

      • Locate specific applications.

      • Focus on higher-priority metrics on the main page of the Application Center.

Glossary of Technical Terms

Application Center: Area of the Elven Platform dedicated to managing and monitoring applications, offering an overview with performance indicators and status.

Product Center: Section of the platform where products are managed, allowing direct integration with the Application Center for linking applications.

Monitored Resources: Elements associated with the application, such as instances, endpoints, or specific integrations, configured for monitoring.

Real-Time Monitoring: Functionality that displays dynamic charts with the current performance of applications on the main page of the Application Center.

Status: Column indicating the current state of the application on the platform.

Application Main: Main name assigned to each application, allowing quick identification and organization in the monitoring list.

Dependency State: Indicator showing the status of dependencies associated with the application. May include charts or icons representing dependencies and state trends.

MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures): Metric representing the average time between application failures. Provides insight into operational stability.

MTTA (Mean Time to Acknowledge): Average time the team takes to acknowledge the occurrence of a problem in the application. Measured in seconds or minutes.

MTTRecovery (Mean Time to Recovery): Metric indicating the average time needed to recover the application after a failure. Represented in minutes.

Uptime – 1H: Percentage of application availability over the last 60 minutes, indicating performance and stability during that period.

No Data: Status displayed when there is no information or metrics available for the application.
